Bethany Brown
A country girl at heart, Bethany Brown’s jewellery has a natural and free-flowing movement to it. While her time in the second city, Birmingham, has inspired her to combine the geometric boldness of the surrounding architecture with the softness of nature found in Suffolk.

Her main passion is designing and wax carving narrative pieces often inspired by ancient legends and unique places in the UK. Her work is full of contrasts in colour and meaning, often drawing on the constant struggle between man and nature.

Combining traditional skills and computer aided design (CAD) she creates bespoke jewellery in silver and gold that have a place in the world when not on the body. Each jewel is a small piece wearable art made to tell a story about a place, a person or a memory.

During her time at Birmingham’s School of Jewellery, Bethany encountered many new techniques and skills which she now uses regularly in her work. For example she integrates hand wax carving with CAD and laser engraving which gives even her commercial collections and designs a bespoke feel.
